Kowaliga Indian
Hank Williams immortalized in song the wooden statue at Kowaliga Point after one of his many visits to Lake Martin. Kowaliga continues to greet visitors as he staunchly stands overlooking the Southern shores.

Charles E. Bailey, Sr. Sportplex
The Sportplex is where our residents come to play. Softball and baseball fields, an archery range, a gymnasium, a horse-riding arena, swimming pool, football/soccer stadium and amphitheater are a part of the multi-use complex. The Veteran's Memorial, antique fire truck, a picnic pavilion, senior cabin, and the Imagination Station playground are part of the park.

Wind Creek State Park
Located off Alabama Hwy. 128 between Highways 63 and 280, Wind Creek sports one of the largest campsites in Alabama. Excellent access to water sports on Lake Martin. The Park offers wet boat storage, paved boat ramp access, marina, full-service store and bait shop. A swimming area and beach with bathhouse, picnic areas, and hiking trails are available for campers or day use. Wind Creek offers 635 campsites on its 1400 acres. Phone 256-329-0845.

Lake Martin Amphitheater
The perfect setting for artistic and cultural events of every description. This natural, open-air site provides a panoramic view of Big Kowaliga Basin of Lake Martin. Performances are scheduled throughout the year. "Blast from the Past" is a fun, music-filled end-of-summer event for the whole family. For info, contact Russell Lands, Inc. at 256-329-0835.

Martin Dam
Built in 1923, forms the Tallapoosa River into the 700-plus miles of shoreline that is Lake Martin. The dam is located between Highways 24 and 50 and offers fishing spots and a scenic overlook with picnic tables.

D.A.R.E. Power Park
Located between Alex City and Dadeville on Young's Landing, it's the most recent recreation facility to be added in the Lake Martin area. The park features a swimming beach, two large pavilions, 13 picnic tables with grills, two fishing piers, and an amphitheater. Entrance fee of $2 per person. The park is open 9am - 8pm, May through September. The adjacent boat ramp is free and open year round, 24 hours a day.

Chimney Rock
One of the most popular sites on the Lake, Chimney Rock is a popular island boating stop where daredevils climb to various points on the lone rock that juts from the island like a chimney -- and jump into the lake.

Horseshoe Bend Military Park
The 2,040 acre National Military Park is dedicated to the memory of US soldiers and Creek Nation Indians who died in the battle of Horseshoe Bend on March 27, 1814. The visitor center and museum depicts the period of battle and explains the equipment used by soldiers and Creek Indians. 2.8 miles of hiking trails cut through the park and meander along the Tallapoosa River. A self-guided tour drives visitors through the battlefield and visitors can often see a variety of wildlife. The park also offers a picnic area and pavilions with grills, slide presentations and historic re-enactment. A public boat ramp is also available. The park is located between New Site and Dadeville on Highway 49 North.

Children's Harbor
Located just off Highway 63 at Kowaliga Bridge, the facility has a picturesque campus and a program offering therapeutic foster care for families and children. Visitors enjoy the New England-style church and lighthouse that are Lake Martin landmarks.

Camp ASCCA
Alabama's Special Camp for Children & Adults, offers opportunities for the disabled to enjoy recreational activities. The camp features dormitory style lodging and is located on the Lake near Jackson's Gap. The public is welcome for tours on weekdays. Call 825-9226.
