Provides assistance and activities that protect, promote and benefit retail business. Initiates programs and events that will attract tourism to the area, develops and improves the services, promotions, and attractions necessary for this area to become a destination for visitors.
Tourism Bureau Task Force

Goals
• Tourism task force to begin research and development of a comprehensive plan to adequately fund a formal tourism bureau. This group will work with other interested groups including the Dadeville Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Lake Martin , Tallapoosa County Commission, Main Street Alexander City , Economic Development Alliance.
• Tourism task force to work with the retail committee on marketing publications such as the Visitors Guide, South's Best Kept Secret, and additional marketing collateral. Launch an image building campaign.

The retail committee is charged with providing assistance in implementing programs that promote, protect, and benefit retail sales. In addition, programs and events will be implemented to attract tourists to the area.
• Produce and distribute the annual Visitors Guide by Memorial Day weekend.
• Promote Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
• Sponsor “Coffee Break From Crime” with the ACPD.
• Market and Promote Chamber Checks program.
Recruit retail businesses into Chamber membership.
• Spotlight retail activities on The Front Porch.
• Assist the community development committee in the pursuit of new restaurants and retail shops.
• Partner & support Main Street Alexander City to continue revitalization of downtown projects.
• Sponsor Holiday Open House in November.
• Jr. Ambassadors to help with Santa Claus on Broad Street .
• Work with Parks and Recreation to help promote sporting tournaments.
• Sponsor a retail meeting with a speaker from the Alabama Retail Association.
