To focus on improving quality of life issues and enhance the Alex City area as a location for employees/citizens to live and raise families.

Economic Development

Chairman: Joe Robinson, Marvin Wagoner, Susie Kelley, Tommy Johnson, Susan Foy,
Jay Dowdle, Kim Price, Don McClellan

The primary focus of this committee will be to concentrate on three critical areas: (1) education (2) communication (3) developing strong relationships with key economic development organizations and recruiters.


Goals

Support area-specific economic development activities including:

1) prospect tours of the area
2) updating chamber website to include available sites and buildings
3) other initiatives. i.e. CACC and the Alabama Technology Network

Coordinate economic development activities with other groups:

1) Lake Martin Economic Development Alliance
2) City of Alex. City - mayor and council
3) World Business Advisors - Billy Joe Camp
4) Lake Martin Industrial Development Authority
5) Alabama Development Office
6) Economic Development Partnership of Alabama

Emphasize communication and "Tell our Story."

1) Tell local citizens what we are doing and enlist support
2) tell our story to other groups i.e. ADO & EDPA. 3) Project image in industry publications
4) have presence at trade shows, etc.
5) Keep in contact with local, state, and national politicians
